Introducing EverMaintain

Hey, this is the first in a long series of blog posts that will be centered on updates for the EverMaintain maintenance platform. If you’re reading this, then that means you’re at some level a stakeholder, and somewhat interested in reading about updates, and for that I’m incredibly appreciative!

What is EverMaintain?

I think a good first post would include a detailed description about what the heck this thing even is. Let me paste a blurb I had GPT help me write to sound smart when talking about it:

EverMaintain is a robust and versatile web application designed for the comprehensive tracking of maintenance activities across a broad range of industries. It leverages the power of modern web technologies to offer an intuitive and efficient solution for managing the maintenance of assets, suitable for both personal and organizational use.

What even is that?

In traditional terms, it’s a CMMS, or computerized maintenance managed system, a flexible and adaptable way for anyone that wants to track and report maintenance on anything. Boats, cars, aircraft, ice cream machines, lawn mowers, whatever.

The goal of this project is to create a software as a service for any and all maintenance management for any type of asset.

I understand that’s a lofty goal.

How do I see this having any shot at working?

The trick will be figuring out where all key maintenance requirements overlap in all industries and making that the foundation and cornerstone of this platform, while also allowing the unique industry requirements to be filled at the individual organization level with flexible configurations.

What do I mean by flexible configurations at the organization level?

Let all maintenance happen. If a company cares about tracking the amount of ice cream in their machine on a daily basis, they should have a way to track and report that. If a forklift maintenance company wants to track weekly oil or hydraulic fluid levels, they should be able to set that up in their asset.

Make the baseline maintenance record write up / sign off that would be used everywhere, while also allowing for additional options that are unique to a given industry.

I think that concept, with the addition of really nice-to-have and other fundamental features like:

  • Maintenance Technician Hour Tracking
  • Maintenance Procedure Management
  • Notifications & Alerts
  • Customizable Dashboards
  • Role-Based access for multiple users in an org
  • Several reporting methods to help individuals & companies identify the health of their maintenance plans

among others, would be a competitive entry in the market for this idea.

It’s definitely a tool I’ve been thinking about for awhile and something I’ve put more focus on as of late.

Let me know what you think overall of this idea. If I did a terrible job at explaining and you’re still scratching your head, please ask me questions in the comments, I’d love to try to clarify my thoughts on some of these things and that would also help sharpen the vision.

In the next update, I’ll post about the current features the platform has (as it’s still very much in development,) and then will begin posting semi-regular updates as new features are added/being worked on.

In the meantime, I would very much love for discussion to start on these blog posts! Email me @ kbloom@evermaintain.com if you’d rather it not be in a public forum or obviously call/text me if you have my number 👍

If you made it this far then thanks and hope to see you at the next one! 🫡
